Whereas all of our blog posts to date have related to some aspect of the Great Reunion itself or the Battle of Gettysburg, this one is a “back to the future” post where “future” means “pretty darn soon.”
If you are interested in a first-hand experience that involves “Walking in the Footsteps of the 1913 Reunion Veterans” – that’s the official description of this event – take a look at the following:
The Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau is sponsoring a “Gettysburg Preservation Walk” on Sunday, April 21, 2013 – just about 3 weeks from the date of this post – at three different times that day: 9:45, 10:30, and 11:15 (all times EDT and morning/A.M.). Each of the 45-minute walks, led by a Licensed Battlefield Guide, will focus on past reunions – including the Great Reunion – and take attendees along the paths walked by the Civil War veterans at the various gatherings.
If you can’t attend in person but are interested in future events, we will keep an eye out and post ones we learn about, and you can also check out various Gettysburg travel- or history-related sites for events.
And don’t forget that for the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, a great number of events are planned.
