June 29, 1913 1:00 P.M.

This morning’s temperatures at the encampment grounds were pleasant but as the day has progressed temperatures have soared to close to one hundred degrees. Medical officials of the U.S. Army and the Pennsylvania Health Commission fear for the well-being of so many old men underneath the harsh sun. Many of the men are standing in line to register upon their arrival today, and the medical officials along with the Boy Scouts are doing their best to provide shelter and aid as necessary. Stay tuned for further bulletins.

Between June 29th and July 4th, 2013 our posts will come to us courtesy of the “blogging time machine” we have secretly and mysteriously sent a century into the past to the site of the Great Reunion at Gettysburg.
