The first official Blue-Gray gathering of this celebration will begin soon in the Great Tent with the survivors of Buford’s Cavalry – the Union men who were there at the very beginning of the skirmish that became the three-day battle – meeting with men from Joe Wheeler’s Cavalry. Wheeler and his men were not at Gettysburg but since the Jubilee is open to all Civil War veterans regardless of whether they were at Gettysburg or not, officials deemed it appropriate to have the two cavalry forces come together in harmony.
