The 32 bubbling ice water fountains established at central points on the encampment grounds have proved very popular with both Union and Confederate veterans, especially given the heat of the day. Orderly lines can be seen at nearly every fountain throughout the day, and the ready supply of cold water has enabled many veterans to fight off the extreme weather each day of the encampment.

Between June 29th and July 4th, 2013 our posts will come to us courtesy of the “blogging time machine” we have secretly and mysteriously sent a century into the past to the site of the Great Reunion at Gettysburg.
