The United States Army Medical Corps and the Pennsylvania Health Commission issued a bulletin this morning confirming that two more veterans, both Union, have died bringing the death toll to a total of four. Otto Stamm of Hornell, New York, age 75; and Edgar Rigsby, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, age 68 are the names of the two deceased veterans.
The Medical Corps also released the names of the first two victims: John Reynolds, Portchester, New York, age 69; and Augustus D. Brown, Livermore Falls, Maine, age 73.
Medical officials continue to be concerned about the welfare of the veterans amidst the heat and humidity that is expected to continue today. More than 100 veterans have been admitted to a field hospital for heat exhaustion thus far, and many more treated for such symptoms without needing to be admitted for hospitalization.
Stand by for further medical bulletins.
