POST OFFICE FACILITIES OVERLOADED

July 1, 1913 11:00 A.M.

Yesterday 75,000 pieces of mail were posted from Gettysburg, bringing great stress to the regular Gettysburg postal facilities as well as the temporary postal office established within the encampment grounds. Reports indicate that the much of the mail is comprised of postcards being sent by veterans back home. Assistance is being sought from postal facilities in York, Harrisburg, and as far away as Baltimore.
