July 2, 1913 3:00 P.M.

A short while ago Mister Barry Bulkley of Washington, D.C. read the Gettysburg Address to the assembled audience in the Great Tent as part of today’s Military Day ceremonies. Mr. Bulkley’s father was the first surgeon who tended to President Lincoln after being shot, thus his son was given the honor of reciting Lincoln’s masterpiece speech.

Between June 29th and July 4th, 2013 our posts will come to us courtesy of the “blogging time machine” we have secretly and mysteriously sent a century into the past to the site of the Great Reunion at Gettysburg.
